Armor Types

Advanced Composite Armor (ACA):
Advanced Composite Armor (ACA) is a layered composite armor.
The outer layer is an homogeneous plate of beryllium-copper-nickel alloy, with an amorphous silicon nitride ablative covering. The second layer is a metal matrix composite of boron fibres (Single crystal fibres) in a titanium alloy matrix, strong, elastic and relatively lightweight. This outer double layer is followed by a multicellular Titanium foam "energy distributor". The inner layer is a sandwich of titanium alloy bonded with three intermediate layers, the first made of corindon crystals in a ceramic matrix, the mid one of boron single crystal fibres in an organic matrix, and the last of polymeric fibres composite. The innermost layer is a spalling shield made up of several sheets of 2-D weave boron filament, bioweave, and polyethylene fiber.
The combined elements have a total Specific Strength* (MPa-cm3/g) of 750, or 5 times that of RHA steel armor. The armor is installed in modular sections for quick and easy replacement and maintainance.

Basic Composite Armor (BCA)
Basic Composite Armor (BCA) is a layered composite armor.
The outermost layer is a thin sprayed on layer of armor quality polyethylene. Next are several sandwiched layers of foam steel alloy, reinforced with embedded carbide whiskers, and a ceramic matrix, also reinforced with embedded carbide whiskers. This is backed with a layer of foam titanium alloy reinforced with embedded carbide whiskers. The innermost layer is a spalling shield made up of several sheets of 2-D weave boron filament, bioweave, and polyethylene fiber.
The combined elements have a total Specific Strength* (MPa-cm3/g) of 450, or 3 times that of RHA steel armor. The armor is installed in modular sections for quick and easy replacement and maintainance.

Contingency Composite Armor (CCA):
Contingency Composite Armor (CCA) consists of light sheets polyethylene and foam titanium alloy reinforced with embedded carbide whiskers armor skirts can can be applied to the sides and front to provide additional protection.
The combined elements have a total Specific Strength* (MPa-cm3/g) of 300, or 2 times that of RHA steel armor. The armor is installed in modular sections for quick and easy replacement and maintainance.
